Wizard book

I bought a book from Piccolo, some years ago. I wanted to do something with wizards, but make another room was too much.

So this changed into the Wizard's book. I made the cupboard, and filled it with made and bought things. And gifts from friends. The scroll I especially like, that was a gift from a friend, when she heard this was going to be a wizard's cupboard.
I made this some time ago, but finally took (and had taken) some proper pictures of the inside.

I have two little dolls, dolls for the dollhouse child, from Tower House dolls. One awake, one sleeping. and a kit for a little wicker crib.
Made up the kit, and dressed one of the dolls. They turned out great.

Tatting again

I bought Oliver Twist thread recently. Tatted a handkerchief edging with it. It is a lovely thread to tat with. I like to tat with very thin thread, and this is nice and thin. I love the muted colors. The hanky I have given to a friend, she really appreciated it.

From big to small.....
I have made myself a lovely warm shawl. Granny square stitch.

My son's girlfriend had her birthday recently, made her one too, from the South Bay pattern

Tried Tunisian crochet, made a piece then what to do with it? made it into a hat. It is nice and warm.

And a little blanket, using Guterman silk sewing thread.

Day 4, last day and trip home

Today we had to go home again. On the way we stopped at the Ellert en Brammert museum, Another open air museum, this time showing more of the houses of the workers in the peat.
Haven't got any pictures yet of the houses there.

We drove home after this visit, arrving there about 16.30. We had a lovely couple of days away, also because of the weather, we were very Lucky.

and today is mother's day. when I got home, the sons and girlfriend of nr. one son had a surprise ready for me. They had baked me a red velvet cake, covered in chocolate butter cream. and a basket of strawberries, and fresh asparagus. 3

Another glorious day! we are so lucky with the weather!

and a lot of photos - again!
First we went to the Hoogelanden museum, another open air museum. We dídn't know that, but they had a festive day today, with lots of stands around. A lovely museum, really gives you an idea of how people lived.

The countryside here was very wet, people lived here, but farms and houses would be flooded often. Instead of leaving, houses and farms were built on terps, or as they are called here wierden.
there is a lovely small museum of this, Wierdenland museum.

This is close to the Wierden van Ezinge

We had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant, and walked back along the lake to the hotel.

View from the hotel

I am having trouble posting pictures withmy ipad on my blog, can't see all the pictures I've added.
We got back to the hotel later in the afternoon. We were thirsty, so sat on the terrace of the hotel bar and had a drink, a nice cold beer.
This is the view from the terrace.
The water is the lake, we walked around yesterday.

Day 2 of our trip

First a lovely leisurely breakfast at the hotel. We had decided to go to the Hortus Haren, a botanical garden. It has a Chines garden, and all different parts, a water garden, an arboretum (with trees). We even saw a deer jumping away in front of us! Not everything was flowering, it is only spring, and the second lovely warm day in a long time! A week ago it was freezing at night....

We then went to the Theefabriek for tea, sandwiches and scones.

This is the countryside we drove through, very flat, you could look a long way away.
